Meet  Mrs. Ficklin

Lauren Ficklin graduated from Brigham Young University with her degree in Early Childhood Education. In her studies, she specialized in grades PreK-3 and always had an affinity for preschool. She taught 1st grade for 6 years at Foothill Elementary. During that time, Lauren got her Reading Endorsement through the Utah Board of Education and Utah Valley University. This Reading Endorsement indicates that Mrs. Ficklin is highly trained in teaching children how to read and the prerequisite skills for reading. After teaching, she wrote science newspapers for 1st and 2nd graders at Studies Weekly for 2 years. She has a passion for science and believes strongly that young children’s curiosity in the natural world should be a big part of their learning. After 2 years in curriculum, she decided to start making her dreams come true and created Junior Explorers Preschool in 2022.

Assistant Teachers will join Junior Explorers as the need arises.
